Here’s an old drawing I did of an obscure inscribed celt, from a murky photo published long ago by Heinrich Berlin. The original reference is:

Berlin noted its provenience simply as from the “Michol River,” not too far from Palenque.
The most interesting aspects of the inscription are the odd chevron arrangement of the glyphs, as well as the final possessed noun, simply reading “his celt” (U-LEEM?). I will soon be posting some thoughts on the possible LEM or LEEM phonetic reading of the “celt” sign.
Hi David! I see the date from your drawing as 9.12.15.0.0. 4 Ajaw 13 Ceh. But the date 9.12.15.0.0 corresponds with 2 Ajaw 13 Sip. So probably the date from Michol celt is 9.11.15.0.0 4 Ajaw 13 Mol. Therefore the initial date must be (-0.0.0.10.4) 9.11.14.7.16 8 Kib 14 Pax. I hope you will post your arguments regarding LEEM reading as soon as possible. It is very interesting idea and I have some own observation which can support your reading. Best, Yuriy
Yes, you are quite correct Yuri. My note on the drawing must have been done too late at night, or too early in the morning! I see I made two errors at one time: putting the wrong K’atun value for 9.12.15.0.0, then equating that long count with 4 Ahaw 13 Keh, which is of course a different period ending altogether. That’s what I get for relying on memory of numbers when writing down dates. Thanks for the correction. – David
