On-line Dresden Codex

The Saxon State Library (Sächsische Landesbibliothek) of Dresden recently posted high-resolution photographs of the Dresden Codex on its website. They are extremely good images, very useful to any student of Maya glyphs and iconography.

To access the on-line images go to the website and click the book icon, marked “zur Werkansicht.”

Thanks a lot! I’m doing in independent study on the glyphs and my professor isn’t much help, so thanks for the resource!

    Hi Dr Stuart,
Just wanted to say how touched I was by watching the movie “Breaking the Mayan Code” and seeing this bright little kid who went to all those Mayan sites with his dad from a very young age, and as a young teen already understood so much about the Mayan “language”. I was very very moved.
Take care and best wishes from Amsterdam
